D. Repulski: Henry's at least 3 locations in Saint Joseph, MO

Fond memories in the 60s-70s. Walking home from high school, in the winter, I passed the HENRY'S DRIVE-IN at 28th and Messanie Sts. near PARKWAY A. Several blocks from home, I still remember the pleasant aroma filling the air, fried shrimp, breaded mushrooms, fried chicken, midwest breaded pork tenderloin, and the fries, malts, and ice cream were special. The franchise owner always hired the most dedicated high school kids and adult staff. Very consistent food and service. Henry's sponsored high school athletics and aired great jingles on the local AM TOP 40 radio, "KKJO Tiger Radio always plays the hits." The Henry's jingle went like this:

"Think Henry's for wonderful burgers,
Think Henry’s for fabulous fries,
Think Henry’s, Mom, and you can’t go wrong,
As long as you bring me along!"

D. Hartsock: I miss Henry's in N.W. Iowa

I grew up in Northwest Iowa. Fort Dodge was about an hour's drive away, but it is where we went as a family to do our Christmas shopping every year, and other shopping throughout the year. Back then the mall was open inside and you were exposed to the elements as you went from one shop to another. Later they enclosed the mall. I was born in 1960 and me memories start there at about age 5. Henry's Hamburgers was located next to the mall. I remember their sign advertising 5 Cent hamburgers. Dad would always stop so 6 of us would sit inside and have a great meal. I was always so excited to get to eat there.

I am now 65, and I still miss Henry's. I can see the place in my mind, as well as smell the burgers cooking, and I remember the taste. I would still be a regular customer if I were closer to you.
If my wife and I get to take a trip your direction, you will be on my 'must stop" list. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

B. Hoover: Most Fun Job I Ever Had

I worked at Henry’s in Anderson Indiana in 1965-66 while in high school. Most fun job I’ve ever had. Whenever I am in Benton Harbor I stop in and eat and get the latest T-Shirt.
